Our History
The Sahil Safi Carpet Weaving Company is registered with MoCI under license no. D-02-2242, Reg. 87183, and started official business in Afghanistan in 2016. The company has been in the business of selling carpet since 1997 in Pakistan, returned to Afghanistan in 2007, and started its operation in 2008. The total investment the business has made is more than USD 100,000. The business has been run by two shareholders (50% each) named Mr. Shah Zalmai as president and Dr. Najmuddin as vice president. The company’s current monthly carpet weaving product is 290 square meters, and its current monthly wool spinning product is 3500 kg per month, providing job opportunities to more than 1100 laborers (12 office employees and 1100 wool spinners and carpet weavers), and it intends to increase carpet production to 310 sq m and wool spinning to 3500 kg per month. The business has grown very well over the last couple of years and increased production capacity, sales, and revenues; in the meantime, it has contracted with various clients.
